My 1-Point Plan

LOWER PROPERTY TAX

The RCV Challenge:
Request pledge from all candidates: for each percent of the first line vote given to Chris Holbrook, reduce property tax collection by $1M.

WHY ARE PROPERTY TAXES HIGH?

  1. Mismanagement of priorities.
  2. Exceeding projected budgets.
  3. Over-regulation of residents and their businesses.
  4. Accepting racial disparities.
  5. Unaffordable housing.

HOW DO WE LOWER PROPERTY TAXES?

  1. Create an equitable focus on diverse communities.
  2. Supervise departments and their costs.
  3. Moratorium on bans (like menthol cigarettes) and mandates (like $15 labor).
  4. Freeze drug possession arrests.
    (prevent disproportionate harassment and imprisonment)
  5. Limit high density low income construction.
(promote tiny house single family ownership)

WHAT WILL HAPPEN IF WE DO?

  1. ALL areas of the city will thrive.
  2. We will SAVE MILLIONS on project overruns.
  3. MORE JOBS, start up entries, and MORE TAKE HOME PAY.
  4. IMPROVED police-community relations.
  5. INTEGRATION of good jobs, parks, and safe neighborhoods.
